The pavilion of the State of Qatar at the Expo Astana 2017, Kazakhstan, won the Best Exterior Design Award, winning the first place in the public voting in the exhibition of Exhibitor Magazine 2017 among more than 100 pavilions of the participating countries in this world fair.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce said that Qatar’s pavilion winning the Expo 2017 was a result of the highest percentage of votes in the selection of individuals in a poll conducted by the magazine, one of the world’s leading magazines specialized in international exhibitions, with about 50 000 people taking part.
The Qatari pavilion was designed in a way that reflects the countrys heritage, culture and modernity.
It presents a number of successful projects that Qatar has undertaken in the field of sustainable energy, as well as the countrys strategy in diversifying its energy sources in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
There are a number of sections inside the pavilion.
One seeks to present Qatars history to the participants. Another focuses on future technology, and the steps Qatar has taken in the field of green energy.
There is also a section that discusses the impact of sustainable energy on the prosperity of societies.
Expo Astana 2017 opened on June 10 and will run until September 10. More than a 100 countries and 18 international organizations are taking part in the event.
It is expected to attract a total of 5 million visitors and provides an opportunity to promote a number of industries in the energy sector.(QNA)
