Like Jelly’s music can only be described as a cultural, musical melting pot, bringing together various inspirations and influences ranging from traditional Arabic music and acoustic rock to Brazilian beats. The band plays mostly original music in Arabic, along with a few English tracks, drawing its lyrical inspiration from Egyptian contemporary issues related to culture and politics. Its music is comical, often eliciting loud bursts of laughter from its audiences. The band\'s upcoming performance at Cairo\'s Makan culture centre will include tracks from a play – still a work in progress – that will be performed in full later this year. The band is composed of Youssef Atwan (vocals and guitar), Muhammed El-Quessny (guitar), Moose (Bass) and Omar El-Nayal (Egyptian drums). The upcoming Makan performance is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 28 February. Makan culture centre 1 Saad Zaghloul Street, opposite the Saad Zaghloul Mausoleum, Downtown Cairo
