Isa Cultural Center in cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) organized a lecture entitled “The Convention on the Rights of the Child: A key document for making positive change in children’s lives.”
UNICEF Senior Regional Advisor, Ghassan Khalil, addressed the lecture in the presence of a number of educators and specialists in the field of child care and protection.
Khalil pointed out Bahrain’s efforts to improve children’s status based on the same convention that compels states parties to abide by human rights law.
He added the UNICEF’s mission is to protect children’s rights in various fields, including healthcare, educational, social, civil and legal services related to children.
The lecture is part of the signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Isa Cultural Center and the UN agencies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which stipulates raising awareness of the UN sustainable development goals.
