Iran’s Ambassador to Indonesia Mahmoud Farazandeh said on Tuesday that Iran’s Cultural Week in Jakarta was well received by Indonesians. Talking to IRNA, he added that presence of Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini in the event has added to its significance. The ongoing cultural week includes various sections such as glassworks, miniature, photos and posters, painting, calligraphy, carpet, book fair as well as an exhibition of digital media, he said. Farazandeh further noted that an exhibition of Iranian cultural and tourism attractions is also underway, which has been warmly welcomed by the audience. All of the pavilions are crowded most of the times, he noted. The ambassador also pointed out that Indonesian Culture and Education Minister Muhammad Noah hailed Iran’s art and thanked the Iranian artists. He also called for transfer of Iranian professional artists’ experience to his country, Farazandeh noted. He further stated that the cultural week seeks to make the Indonesians further familiar with the Iranian culture. Referring to Iran-Indonesia ancient ties, the ambassador said that Persian language has influenced the Indonesian literature, as some 400 Persian words have entered the Indonesian language which are currently in use. Characterizing Islamic Revolution as a cultural revolution, he said that efforts should be made to hold such programs across the world.
