The fourth GCC Archeological Exhibition kick-started at the Bahrain National Museum here on Thursday, putting on display a collection of antiquities that back to pre-historical, post-historical, pre-Islamic and post-Islamic periods. The GCC exhibition was opened by Bahraini Minister of Culture Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa. The inaugural ceremony was attended by GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani, Kuwaiti National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Secretary General Ali Al-Youha, diplomatic, leading political personalities. Speaking to reporters following the inauguration, the minister said the exhibition is part of the kingdom's Arab tourism capital celebrations. She lauded the event as a good opportunity to promote the heritage and tradition of the GCC member states, noting that antiquities put on display reflect cultural and historical unity among the GCC countries.
