Jack Lang, president of the Arab World Institute (IMA) president recently visited the Kingdom’s capital to inaugurate the “25 Years of Arabic Creativity” exhibition at the Naila Art Gallery. Mona Khazindar, the IMA’s general director, accompanied Land during his visit. The Paris-based IMA is a museum devoted to the Arab world’s art scene and it also presents performances as well as cultural programs. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture and Information Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Princess Adilah bint Abdullah who is a well-known patron of charitable foundations and French Ambassador Bertrand Besancenot. “Lang also attended the inauguration of the new premises of the Alliance Francaise in the Kingdom, which was attended by a large number of students,” the French Embassy said in a statement. On the sidelines of his visit to the Kingdom, Lang visited Faisal Muammar, general secretary of King Abdulaziz Library, IMA’s partner in the pilgrimage exhibition project, which is to be held in Paris in 2014. He was also received by Prince Waleed bin Talal, CEO and founder of Kingdom Holding Comp and a well-known sponsor of Islamic arts. Lang was a former French minister until his appointment as president of the Paris-based IMA. From Arab News
