Egypt's state TV signed on Thursday a protocol with China Radio International (CRI) on airing a popular Chinese soap opera for the first time in the channel's history. "Jin Tailang's Happy Life," a show topping China's rating chart in 2012, will be aired on Egypt's state TV in Arabic starting from Saturday. Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Song Aiguo, who attended the signing ceremony, praised "the new kind of cultural cooperation" between the two countries. "Now Egyptian friends who don't know much about China have a good chance to know our Chinese society, people and the progress made in China through the Chinese drama," he said in ceremony at the Chinese embassy in Cairo. Song added that there are huge potentials for cooperation between the two countries in other cultural fields.
