The director of the National Library in Isa Cultural Center, Dr. Mansour Sarhan, revealed that the Kingdom of Bahrain had hosted in the year 2012 a lot of local cultural and intellectual activities and events more than in previous years. Dr. Sarhan said that the local cultural arena last year had witnessed a lot of cultural and intellectual activities and events which coincided with the selection of Manama as the Capital of Arab Culture, including books published in diverse subjects matter and content, lectures, seminars hosted by cultural societies and forums, literary and academic conferences, fine arts shows in the Kingdom of Bahrain which attracted large number of audiences in 2012. Dr. Mansour Sahran highlighted the launching of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Libraries Portal which includes more than 1,000,000 book titles and university theses. He explained that a large number of books, anthologies, novels, critiques, dictionaries, bibliographies, etc., had been published in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
