The Information Affairs Authority (IAA) President Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi has honoured the winners of the National Poetry Contest and members of the Arbitration Panel.The contest was launched on Radio Bahrain in December 2013 marking the Kingdom's celebrations of its National Days: the anniversary of the establishment of the modern Islamic, Arab State of Bahrain by its founder Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783AD, the 42nd anniversary of Bahrain's joining full UN-membership and the 14th anniversary of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Accession to the Throne.Al-Rumaihi praised the outstanding level of participating poets whose poems embodied the beautiful and urbane accomplishments of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the prosperous reign of HM the King in which the poets expressed their gushing sentiments in love and allegiance to the Kingdom and its leadership.IAA's President lauded the efforts of the contest's arbitration panel: poet Hassan Salman Kamal, poet Mubarak Amro Al-Ammari, poet Mohammed Khalaf Al Khalaf and also praised the remarkable work accomplished by Radio Bahrain's team.Arbitration panel members and the winning poets expressed gratitude to the IAA's President for his support to poetry and poets in the Kingdom, adding that such contests would enrich the field and introduce new talents who preserve the heritage of our fathers and forefathers.Twenty-one poets qualified for the final stage of the National Poetry Contest who have satisfied all the terms and conditions of the contest. Their poems were aired on the general programme FM 102.3, Bahrain FM 93.3 and Shabab FM 98.4.Poet Mohammed Mansour Al Mubarak topped the list of winners. Poet Nawaf Al Mahmoud came second and poet Abdullah Khalid Al Khalidi emerged third in the list of winners. Also, a national thematic piece of music was composed by music distributor Jamal Al Qaed, supervised by poet Yunus Al Eid and produced by radio director Ahmed Al Obaideli.The meeting was attended by Yunus Sulaiman the Director of Radio Bahrain.
