The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) team heads to the 70th Venice Film Festival this week to further promote Arab film and talent to the world. The prestigious festival runs from the 28th August through to the 7th September and is a crucial opportunity for Arab filmmakers to showcase their work on an international stage. The aim of the festival is to raise awareness and promote the various aspects of international cinema in all its forms: as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. Following a successful first year, DIFF will work in association with the Venice Biennale on the \"Biennale College - Cinema\" in Venice to strengthen relations to ensure there are opportunities for an exciting initiative to support teams of directors and producers to make their first or second micro-budget audio-visual work. The collaboration with the Venice Film Market continues this year and will see ten films that screened at the 9th Edition of DIFF last year to significant acclaim presented through the Digital Video Library which allows filmmakers to have their films made available to distributors, buyers, sellers, agents and film promotion agencies from around the world. The DIFF team will include programmers from the Arab, Asia, Africa and Europe sections who will be securing the very best of film from around the world for the 10th Edition of DIFF that runs from the 6th -14th December. In addition the Dubai Film Market will be on panels during the Festival to discuss opportunities for production and distribution in the Middle East.
