The Cinemania exhibition will open 13 June featuring hand-painted reproductions of Egypt's classic movie posters from the 1960s, some infused with interpretations of the films.
Some notable artists participating include Amr Okasha, Fady Galal, Ehab Khalil, Fajr Soliman, Hatim Soliman, Haytham Sherif, Heba Abo Hmela, Mohammed Khalil, Mohamed Mosaad, Mariam AbdelRahman, Muhammed Saeed and Noura Slim.
Posters will be created out of a selection of media, such as photography, collage, digital art and painting.
The exhibition will be held at Darb 1718, a non-profit organisation that serves as Cairo's leading contemporary arts and culture centre. It will run until 31 July 2015 and is free to all attendees.
