A violent cyclone struck northeastern Australia on Friday, ravaging hundreds of houses homes and cutting power lines which affected sixty thousand people.
The bureau of meteorology predicted cyclone "Marcia", which is moving southward to cause further rainfall and floods along with wrong high and low tides.
Cyclone "Marcia", rated as category 5 system – the highest rating- wreaked havoc on Queensland State yesterday Friday, causing heaving rain and violent winds at a speed of 295 kilometres an hour.
The bureau of meteorology reported a thundery cyclone which was lashing Sunshine Coast, warning against floods both Brisbane and Gold Coast.
The Australian authorities decided to shut down schools and companies as a preventive measure, with cyclone "Marcia" fast-approaching. Meanwhile, 13,000 firemen and volunteers have been moblised to face the cyclone.
