SAIC has been contracted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide environmental consulting in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The company will provide services to military, civil works and international and inter-agency service customers within the geographic Southwest Division boundaries The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options and a contract value of more than $22 million if all options are exercised. The Army Corps of Engineers provides public engineering services to strengthen the nation\'s security, energize the economy, reduce risks from disasters and provide military facilities where service members train, work and live. Under the contract, SAIC will provide environmental consulting services as required, including environmental assessments and studies to satisfy requirements in support of new planned activities and ongoing facility sustainability. SAIC may also provide services related to environmental impact statements and baseline surveys; hazardous material/waste inventories and recovery plans; geographic information systems; and scientific and technological investigations. SAIC is one of two contractors that will compete for task orders under the contract.
