The Saudi Geological Survey on Tuesday said that seismic monitoring stations of its National Centre for Seismology and Volcanology recorded an earthquake measuring 3 on Richter scale.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that according to the SGS official spokesman Tariq Aba Al Khalil, the tremor occurred in the middle of the Red Sea, west of Jeddah city, at a distance of 91 kilometers. The quake is at a depth of 20.88 km.
He stressed that the quake was not felt in any of the coastal cities near the earthquake because of its weakness, reassuring Saudi citizens and residents that the seismic situation is stable in the region.
