Municipalities and Urban Planning Ministry's Undersecretary Dr. Nabil Abulfateh said that the Ministry plans to appoint an international European firm to study the environmental situation in Buhair area.
He told Al-Ayam newspaper today that the Ministry had spoken to the Finance Ministry's relevant department in order to allocate the relevant budget of BD 500,000 for this contract.
He said that the Ministry considered several European countries to implement the study after considering the pre-qualifications and profiles of bidders. The Ministry actually asked the said companies to inspect the jobsite and to provide their visualization of how to implement the project.
Dr. Abulfateh said the company shall study the environmental situation in the aforesaid area, compile a futuristic plan to process domestic waste using the best techniques and methods in order to preserve the ecological situation in addition to recycling accumulated waste to be re-introduced into industrial fields.
He said that the Ministry shall coordinate with the Supreme Council of the Environment regarding the nature of the necessary job of the study especially regarding the duties that crisscross between the Ministry and the Council.
The Minister of Municipalities and Urban Planning had presented a detailed visual presentation on the environmental situation of Buhair during a Cabinet meeting.
The Cabinet had resolved to appoint a specialized international contractor to remedy the environmental situation in Buhair and the allocation of the requisite budget for this project.
The Ministry was assigned by the Cabinet to compile a study for a futuristic plan for processing domestic waste using optimum methods including the recycling of waste.
