The criminals involved in the blast that rocked the Boutroseya Coptic Orthodox Church earlier Sunday will not escape punishment, Cairo Security Chief Khaled Abdel Aal said.
In statements to MENA at the scene, Abdel Aal said Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar gave directives to form a search team to arrest the offenders, stressing in this regard that those criminals will be arrested wherever they are.
Earlier, the minister arrived at the blast site and inspected the inside and outside of the church.
At least 25 people were killed while 49 others were injured in an explosion that targeted the Boutrosiya Church which is adjacent to the St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abbasiya in Cairo.
