All defendants implicated in the espionage case arrived at the court venue at the Police Academy in the Fifth Settlement here on Sunday for the second session of their trial, a high-level Interior Ministry source said. All defendants were taken in armored vehicles from their detention at Tora Prison to the court, the source said. Preparations are underway to airlift ousted president Mohamed Morsi from Borg el-Arab prison to the court venue, the source said. Morsi and 35 leaderships of the Muslim Brotherhood are charged with jeopardizing Egypt’s security by collaborating with foreign organizations to carry out terrorist acts in the country as well as disclosing Egypt’s defense secrets to foreign countries. Investigations uncovered plans by the Muslim Brotherhood group to spread chaos in Egypt through collaboration with Hamas and Hezbollah. Among the accused are Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood Mohamed Badie; his deputies Khairat El-Shater and Mahmoud Ezzat; as well as members of the guidance office, including former speaker of parliament Mohamed Saad Al-Katatny, Mohamed Al-Beltagy, Essam Al-Erian and Saad Al-Hossainy. Morsi is also being charged in three additional separate trials; insulting the judiciary, prison break from Wadi El-Natrun, and the presidential palace violence
