Two policemen were killed on Thursday in an explosive device blast during a security raid on a terrorist hideout in Giza governorate, a security source said.
Earlier reports said that one was killed in the bombing.
First Lieutenant Mohamoud Abul Magd from the Central Security Forces and non-commissioned police officer Sherif Taha were killed in the explosion that left 12 others wounded, including two policemen in critical condition, the source told MENA.
Security authorities acted upon a tip-off that a number of terrorists were holed up in an apartment in Libini Street in Mariyotiya area.
