Fifty-three terrorists were killed Sunday and 52 suspects arrested during an extensive operation in North Sinai.
Units of the police and army continued the Operation "Right of the Martyr" launched last Monday, to eliminate terrorist elements in Rafah, Sheikh Zuweid and Arish in North Sinai.
As many as 36 hotbeds were destroyed, 48 explosive devices defused and amounts of ammunition and weapons were seized.
Also, three vehicles and six unlicensed motorcycles were destroyed.
Five other vehicles were seized.
Seven underground shelters and three warehouses were destroyed.
As many as 80 suspects were released for not being involved in terror attacks, while 58 wanted were delivered to investigation bodies.
The army announced in the early hours of Tuesday that it launched an extensive operation dubbed 'the Right of the Martyr' on Monday in the volatile North Sinai region to rout out terror insurgents.
