At least 14 people were killed and four others injured when a ferry sank in the River Nile in the Warraq area in Giza, Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghafar said on Thursday.
The wounded were moved to Nasser Institute Hospital and Tahrir Public Hospital, Abdel Ghafar added.
Rescue workers are still pulling bodies out of the water, he asserted.
The accident took place late Wednesday when a passenger boat traveling down the Nile near Al Warraq collided with a barge, causing the boat to smash and capsize.
