Visiting Egyptian Minister of Religious Endowments
Mukhtar Gomaa urged Sudan to follow Egypt's example of unified Friday preach to avoid manipulating religion to serve sectarian and political ends.
During a meeting with members of the Sudanese Supreme Council for the Islamic Da'wa, Gomaa underlined the importance of upgrading religious discourse to cope with the electronic age and social media.
He called for disseminating the moderate teachings of Islam and focusing on humanitarian and ethical values in Quran.
He also urged Islamic institutions to cooperate to fight extremism and terror.
