The military persecution decided Monday to release the 18 Zamalek supporters arrested during Wadi Degla match riots last Thursday against an LE3000 bail each. The Zamalek hardcore fans Ultras White Knights (UWK) started a campaign to collect funds to quickly release their detained mates. “They are underage and LE3000 is so much. This is unfair,” UWK member Gemy Beshir (Gemyhood) said. Writer and TV host, Omar Taher adopted the idea of funding the bail by urging his fans to donate for the “poor minor fans,” publishing their lawyers’ number on his twitter account. “Help to release the poor arrested children or they will be transmitted to the military prison,” Taher, the author of Zamalkawy, tweeted. Zamalek\'s board declared Saturday they would contact authorities to release fans arrested after clashing with security personnel during the 1-1 draw with Wadi Degla in day-29 of the Egyptian Premier League. The scene of hooliganism featured angry fans hurling stones and bottles at policemen, two of whom were injured and clashes continuing outside the stadium amid growing tensions in domestic football. Zamalek finished second this season after archrivals Ahly who claimed their seventh successive title. from / ahramonline.
