Dutch international claims he wasn\'t angered by his manager\'s choice, but would much rather have played in his usual position and was partly at fault for the Gunners\' goalTottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has spoken of his frustration at being played on the right wing during the 2-1 win over Arsenal.Despite starting out of position, the Dutch international still gave the hosts the lead five minutes before half time with a neat volleyed finish, but the former Real Madrid man wasn’t particularly pleased.Van der Vaart is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “It’s not something I am very angry about but have a minor irritation with.“You want to play in your preferred position, where you can play to the best of your ability.” The graduate of Ajax’s famous academy was partly at fault for the Arsenal equaliser as he failed to track Alex Song down the wing in the build up to Aaron Ramsey’s strike, but the midfielder wasn’t interested in shouldering any blame. He continued: “But when I have to track back, that does not really benefit my game.“It was only the first time and I received the freedom to come inside from the manager — but you can see from the goal they scored that my strength is in the centre.“I’ll do what the coach asks but I am assuming this will not happen regularly.”The Dutchman was withdrawn at 64 minutes after only recently returning to full fitness. But despite understanding his boss’ anxieties about not risking his players, Van der Vaart insists he could have managed the full 90 minutes. He concluded: “I understand the manager’s decision in the sense that he does not want to take any risks but I’m sure I can play 90 minutes.”
