Arsène Wenger says Thierry Henry was just as effective off the pitch as he was on it during his loan spell at the Club. Arsenal’s all-time record goalscorer struck three times in seven substitute appearances, including memorable winners against Leeds and Sunderland, before returning to New York Red Bulls on Thursday. Wenger was delighted with Henry’s influential role and insists the experience and character he brought to the squad proved hugely beneficial. “On the pitch he was great and off the pitch he was great,” he told Arsenal Player. “He always maintained hope and positive morale in the team and I would like to thank him for that and wish him well for the rest of the season. “I am sure he will have a great season with his club because he is quite sharp and I am confident that in the United States his team will do well with him.”
