Sky Freight-OSN won a close three-way fight for Team of the Week honors during the 15th session in the FTBJ 52nd Open Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City.
When the dust settled, Sky Freight had the top total of 26 points ahead of Sagmit Dental Clinic and Bank AlJazira Fawri, which tied on 25 points.
Host team Bowling City was on 24 points but managed to get a share of the night’s awards courtesy of team captain Igna Salgado who rolled the high series of 680 to become the Bowler of the Week on lines of 194, 227 and 259.
For Yooyooo collected 20 points with D’ Barkads on 19. Solid Striker, Sarimanok and Red Dragons were the last three teams to check in with respective totals of 17, 14 and 10.
Emy de Guzman’s Sky Freight never won a game but pulled through on sheer consistency. D’Barkads topped the first game while AlJazira and Bowling City the last two games.
Sagmit owned the overall output but the turning point in its chase for honors came in the third game when it was edged out by Sky Freight 4 to 3 points.
Bonnie Garcia delivered the most on 663 with Pancho Cuevas 646 and completing a deadly Sky Freight duo to emerge on the night with help from James Galvan and Marlon Bernabe, who both did complete games on 588 and 582.
Oca Bernabe tossed in valuable games of 208-238 whie Nanding Siasoco added 168 for Sky Freight which had two third-place finishes in first game and overall output while going second in the 2nd game and sixth in the third.
Sagmit used a 7-man rotation to build its total with Med Ramos and Sulaiman Mohd. drilling three-game series each on 603 and 588.
The other contributors were Rolly Vistal 202-217, June Estefano 199-187, Jimmy Aragones 202-194, Joey Calapatia 204-224 and Ruel Santoc 237.
League-leading Fawri had Randy Mata and Melvin Lising at the helm on 655 and 608 with Atoi Cruz the third player to go full games on 565. With two games each were Nezar Al Hamwe 205-182, Jowet Carion 223-180, and Nonie Yap 224-233.
Besides Salgado the others who advanced the Bowling City cause were Gerry Mandanas 661, Archie Santos 600, Ed Sardi?a 175-201, Frank Afurong 190-181 and Rommel Agbayani 175-179.
