Spain\'s Alvaro Quiros won the Dubai World Championship in style on Sunday when he rolled in a long eagle putt on the 18th green of the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estate here to win by two shots. Quiros closed with a five-under par 67 for a 19-under par total of 269, three better than Scotland\'s Paul Lawrie, who made a birdie on the last hole to finish alone in second at 17-under par. But World No1 Luke Donald assured himself the lion\'s share of the plaudits after he became the new European number one by winning the European Tour\'s Race to Dubai, becoming the first man to top the season money lists on both sides of the Atlantic. The Englishman finished his season in style, making three birdies on his last three holes for a six-under par round of 66 to land third place at 16-under par 272.
