With one eye firmly fixed on defending their League title, Orlando Pirates are also becoming increasingly aware of their quest to win next year\'s Caf Champions League.Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza has already said that winning the continental Cup is one of his priorities this season, and there is a huge feeling among players and officials at the club that the Soweto giants have what it takes to achieve this goal.Speaking to KickOff.com, Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi says the team is aware of the huge weight of expectation that they will carry when they take part in Africa\'s most lucrative club cup competition.\"We are determined to do well in the Champions League because Pirates have a rich history in this competition. We have won the tournament, so anything less than repeating the feat would be unacceptable to our fans. Our coach is also determined to do well in the competition,\" said Lekgwathi. The club\'s Public Relations Officer, Mickey Modisane, told KickOff.com that Pirates may consider acquiring more players in order to ensure that their Champions League campaign will not adversely affect the defence of their domestic titles.\"The coach will soon meet with the chairman and they will discuss whether or not it will be necessary to sign more players,\" said Modisane.\"The option is there for the coach. It is up to him to decide whether or not he will need more players. It will be a very busy season for us because of the Champions League,\" Modisane added.Pirates are still the only Southern Hemisphere club to have won the African Champions League – a feat they achieved in 1995.
