Preparations for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012 have moved up a gear after the tournament countdown clock was officially launched by the nation’s first lady. During a visit to the International Telecommunication and Information Technology exhibition BakuTel-2011 with her husband, President Ilham Aliyev, Mehriban Aliyeva set the clock ticking down towards the big kick-off on 22 September. She and the president also received information about the latest plans for the women’s youth showpiece, which will be celebrating its third edition in Azerbaijan after successful experiences in New Zealand and Trinidad and Tobago. Details of the online ticketing system were also discussed and, as always, we will keep you up-to-date on this and other Azerbaijan 2012 news right here on FIFA.com.
