President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the opening of the central court of Baku Tennis Academy, APA reports quoting AzerTAC. President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the central court. President of Azerbaijan Tennis Academy, speaker of the parliament Ogtay Asadov informed the head of state that the construction of the central court covering 5500 sq m area started in February last year. Alongside with tennis competitions, volleyball, handball, mini football competitions can be held in the central court, there are all conditions to hold concerts. Modern materials were used in the construction of the 3000-seat central tennis court. There is special equipment for sportscasters and cameramen, parking area for 75-80 cars. President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva watched the demonstrative performance of the young sportsmen. The head of state and his spouse met with young sportsmen, wished them success. Following this, President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyev familiarized themselves with the gym and pool of Baku Tennis Academy. The head of state addressed the constructors and wished them success. President and his spouse walked in the yard of Baku Tennis Academy, familiarized themselves with the renovation. President expressed his satisfaction with the work done, gave his instructions and recommendations.
