Al Ahli Brazilian soccer pro, Jaja, flew home on Monday night without prior notice to the club’s management.According to Al Ahli’s CEO Ahmed Khalifa Hammad, they received a text message from the player saying he was forced to return home due to a private affair. “I have no explanation for the acts of Jaja,” Al Hammadi told Khaleej Times over the phone. “He’s an experienced player and we expected him to behave in a professionalal manner.“Unfortunately, the club’s management is not in a position to take any disciplinary action against the player before he clarifies the situation. We have to wait to find out,” he said.Former champions Al Ahli which get big support and backing in Dubai are passing through a difficult situation since early this season.Chairman Abdulla Saeed Al Naboodah has made every move to prepare the senior football squad since last July and spent millions of dollars to rope in players with international reputation within and outside the country.Besides Jaja, the signings of the club included, Jaja’s compatriot Gravite and Chile’s golden boy Luis Jemenez. But, the outcome has been generally disappointing. Al Ahli dropped to the bottom of the points table in the Etisalat Pro-League with seven points from eight starts. They were beaten twice by arch rivals Al Shabab, including a 2-1 defeat in the 2011 Gulf Club Championship. They have also bowed out of the President’s Cup after a humiliating 0-4 defeat by city rivals Al Wasl. All in all, Al Ahli is out of the chase for all the three titles of the season namely — the Etisalat Cup, the Etisalat Pro-League and the President’s Cup which come as a dampener for the management and the fans.
