Secretary General of the Egyptian Salafi-oriented Al-Nour Party, Galal al-Morra, assured that the party withdrew from the army’s roadmap after \"feeling signs of a civil war erupting\" in Egypt. In an interview with Arab Today, the leading member said that after the “Republican Guard massacre” that led to killing of 51 people, the party anticipated a near civil war in Egypt. Al-Morra said that his party tried to reach an agreement with Egypt\'s national forces without any exclusion, but \"noticed that they tried to exclude the Islamists in Egypt\" and started by shutting down their satellite channels. Regarding his party\'s preparation for the coming parliamentary election, al-Morra said: \"People in Egypt may not accept Islamists in the street after the Muslim Brotherhood\'s failure that led to a second wave of revolution, so it might be a risk for us to take part. However, my party does have a new strategy that is different from Muslim Brotherhood, and we are willing to achieve justice and equality for all Egyptians.\" About the formation of the caretaker government, al-Morra said that Al-Nour party is studying the issue, but preferred \"not to choose any political figures\" and form a technocratic government. Al-Nour party leading members condemned the arrest of Muslim Brotherhood members after June 30, and demand a trial, describing this phase in Egypt as “critical”. He also called on all authorities to reopen the Islamists channels that were closed after June 30. “We want our country to live in peace, and a democratic change. We want to create a state with a respectable institution,” al-Morra concluded.
