Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and chairperson of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, has described the results achieved by the UAE in the 2016 Global Innovation Index as a global certificate which proves the success of the wise government's strategy that has adopted innovation as one of the main pillars to provide solutions and put forward initiatives aimed to serve and contribute towards making the Emirati people happy.
In her remarks on the occasion, Al Hashemi said, "We are very pleased with the advanced results achieved by the UAE this year," and added, "In order to achieve the strategic objectives of enhancing the country's performance in global competitiveness sector and providing the latest data, the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority is working tirelessly on developing a statistical system in the country based on the latest practices and international standards."
She also confirmed the authority's keenness on monitoring and analysing the most important global indicators related to innovation and communicating with the international bodies that publish them.
