Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi hailed efforts exerted by his Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor
Cairo - Arab Today

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi hailed efforts exerted by his Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor in promoting bilateral ties.

"We have confidence that this visit will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations," President Sisi added during a joint press conference with his visiting Slovenian counterpart.

Talks with the Slovenian president tackled a range of issues of mutual interest, including ways of boosting economic, cultural and trade ties, he said.

Several proceedings will be held on the sidelines of the visit to further promote bilateral ties.

He, meanwhile, said that Egypt and Slovenia enjoy longstanding ties, adding that Pahor paid a visit to Egypt in 2009 while he was the prime minister of Slovenia.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi hailed organizing several proceedings on the sidelines of the Slovenian president's visit to Egypt.

He said that the proceedings include holding the Egyptian-Slovenian business forum on Tuesday along with promoting cultural exchange between the two countries through organizing several cultural events to mark the 26th anniversary of the referendum on Slovenia's independence.

President Sisi, meanwhile, said that the talks took up the latest developments in the Middle East in light of the crises gripping a number countries.

He also voiced hope that Egypt will succeed in cooperation with the leaders of the friendly countries, including Slovenia, to put an end to such crises and reach to political solutions that will help in restoring security and stability in such countries.
Speaking at the press conference at Ittihadiya Palace, Slovenian President Borut Pahor said that his visit is a good opportunity for opening a new chapter in relations with Egypt.

He also voiced happiness for visiting Egypt, adding that his talks with President Sisi tackled a host of issues.

He further extended thanks to President Sisi for his viewpoint toward the pressing issues which affect the security and stability of the region and the whole world.

Slovenia, in its capacity as an EU member, is exerting strenuous efforts in order to involve the European Union in resolving issues which concern the Egyptian and Slovenian nations, he added.

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Slovenia hits less than 100 million dollars annually, he noted.

The upcoming years will witness improvement in the volume of trade exchange, he affirmed.
Slovenian President Borut Pahor said that he exchanged with President Sisi viewpoints toward political issues in the region.

He also voiced hope that the European Union will be more successful in finding solutions to the complicated issues in the Middle East.

Solutions to all complicated issues should be peaceful, he affirmed.

He further extended thanks to President Sisi for the warm reception and hospitality.

The Slovenian president also invited Sisi to pay a visit to Slovenia.
