Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Ghandour on Sunday said attempts of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to arrest President Omar al Bashir in South Africa have failed.
The Sudanese minister told his country's official news agency that Bashir's participation in the African Summit was normal as he never abstained from any similar meeting.
The president received an official invitation from his South African counterpart and accepted it, Ghandour said.
Bashir will continue his participation in the meetings up to the closing session and will deliver his speech before leaving on time as scheduled, he added.
The Sudanese minister said the summit would pass an African draft resolution to support Sudan and Kenya against the ICC.
