Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry expressed Egypt's condemnation of the Turkish incursion into Iraq.
During a meeting of the Arab Foreign ministers under the United Arab Emirates to discuss the Turkish action in Iraq, the foreign minister said the Turkish violation of the Iraqi territories represents a flagrant breach of the Arab country's sovereignty, the international law and the United Nations charter.
The foreign minister slammed the foreign intervention in the affairs of Arab countries under pretext of fighting Daesh, pointing out that Egypt condemns the Turkish action in Iraq which he said is totally rejected.
The Arab League Council held an extraordinary meeting on Thursday to discuss Turkish troops' incursion into Iraq's territories.
Turkish troops entered Iraqi territories weeks ago under the pretext of training the Kurdish Peshemrga forces near the city of Mosul but the Iraqi government responded to the incursion angrily and called for withdrawal.
