Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday revealed that contacts are underway with some major countries to hold an international peace conference to solve the Palestinian crisis.
During an interview with the Arab media representatives in Israel, Abbas urged the US administration to take a step with regard to the peace process before the end of its term.
Abbas expressed his full support for the current Palestinians' peaceful uprising against the Israeli occupation.
Israel broke all agreements and allowed settlers to attack the unarmed Palestinian people, along with the Christian and Islamic holy places, Abbas said.
The Palestinian side does not want negotiations only for negotiations, but wants serious negotiations based on international legitimacy's decisions to resolve the final status issues, he added.
We will go to the Security Council to demand an international action to stop the settlement, which now seriously threatens the two-state solution backed by the international community, in addition to calling for providing an international protection for the Palestinian people, Abbas said.
Despite all this, we are ready to achieve peace through negotiations to establish an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with its capital in Al Quds, he added.
