Charlotte Bobcats rookie forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been diagnosed with a concussion after taking a hard fall during a game, the team said Sunday. Kidd-Gilchrist was hospitalized Saturday after crashing to the floor in the third quarter of Charlotte's loss to the Houston Rockets following a collision with teammate Jeff Taylor while trying to stop Toney Douglas' fast-break layup. After laying motionless on the floor for several minutes, the rookie was put on a stretcher while his head and neck were secured. The second overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft was then taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital via ambulance. The team said in an update Kidd-Gilchrist underwent precautionary X-rays and a CT scan, all of which were negative for head and neck injuries. He does have a concussion and remained hospitalized overnight for observation, the Bobcats said. From UPI
