Montpellier defender Cyril Jeunechamp has been banned from football for a year by the Ligue de Football Professional following an incident with a journalist in November. The 37-year-old allegedly hit the journalist after the Ligue 1 match against Valenciennes last month for which he was suspended from 23 November. Following a meeting of the governing body's disciplinary committee it was revealed the player would be suspended for 12 months. It was also announced that Montpellier goalkeeper Geoffrey Jourdren would be banned for two matches for his role in the incident with the sanction taking effect on Christmas Eve. FIFA
