USA forward Landon Donovan will miss international friendlies against Honduras and Ecuador in the coming week after suffering a strained right quadriceps muscle in a match for the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Major League Soccer club announced Donovan would receive treatment in Los Angeles after suffering the injury on Saturday in a 2-1 home victory over Real Salt Lake. Edson Buddle of FC Ingolstadt will replace Donovan in the US squad that began training on Tuesday for matches against Honduras on Saturday at Miami and Ecuador next Tuesday at Harrison, New Jersey. Donovan has scored 46 goals in 138 international appearances while Buddle has two goals in his seven matches with the national side. Donovan, the Galaxy captain, did not travel with the club to New York for an MLS match on Tuesday. He is the Galaxy top scorer this season with 12 goals in 23 MLS matches while English teammate David Beckham leads the US league with 15 assists. SPLM-N parliament members said last month more than 2,000 people had been killed in South Kordofan alone.
