Hosni Abd-Rabou is considering filing a complaint with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) to terminate his contract with Ismaily, who still owe the Egypt midfielder unpaid wages. The 26-year-old has recently signed a three-year contract extension with Ismaily after new chairman Yehia El-Komy promised him that he would receive his overdue payments. Ismaily board member Medhat El-Werdany and football director Ibrahim Hassan persuaded the player to give the board more time before lodging his complaint, the club’s official website said. “Although I received many offers, I could not leave the club where I was raised as a youngster,” Abd-Rabou said two weeks ago. El-Komy, a wealthy businessman, will spearhead a board meeting today to discuss the ongoing crisis. “I can’t provide all sources of funding on my own. The National Sports Council is refusing to give the club any lowans,” he told Ahram Online. “I might step down if I couldn’t solve these problems.” Several Ismaily players followed in the footsteps of Abd-Rabou, abandoning the club’s pre-season training camp. New coach Hossam Hassan also threatened to quit if the players did not receive their salaries.
