Australian golfer Robert Allenby was kidnapped from a bar in Hawaii and badly beaten and robbed, the Golf Channel reported.
Allenby's caddie Mick Middlemo told the channel's Steve Sands that Allenby was in a wine bar near Waikiki with Middlemo and another friend, but neither was with him when he was abducted Friday.
Allenby sustained significant facial injuries and was robbed of his wallet, cell phone, cash and credit cards, according to the report.
The 43-year-old golfer had missed the cut at the US PGA Tour's Sony Open on Friday.
Middlemo told the Golf Channel that Allenby woke up groggy and with no memory of what had happened to him.
He was picked up in a park by a retired military individual and returned to his hotel and was working with police investigating the incident.
