Arsenal centre-back Thomas Vermaelen is optimistic he will recover from a calf problem for the Premier League trip to Chelsea on Saturday. The Belgium international, who has had two months out with an Achilles tendon injury, made his comeback in the Carling Cup victory over Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday, but was forced off with six minutes remaining.\"If I come back from injury after a long time I don\'t believe in coming back and getting rhythm,\" he said.\"I think it is just in your head and a mental thing - if you are a football player you have to be there straight away. I felt fresh, I\'m okay and am available for Saturday.\"Vermaelen\'s comeback is a further boost to a side that has won seven of its last eight games after a miserable start to the season.Arsenal are now up to seventh in the league, although they remain six points behind Chelsea, who will be without Jose Bosingwa and Didier Drogba after their red cards in the defeat to QPR last week.Fernando Torres, though, is available again after suspension. John Terry is expected to play despite the investigation into claims he made a racist remark at Anton Ferdinand.Leaders Manchester City are home to Wolverhampton Wanderers, the side they beat 5-2 in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.Adam Johnson scored one and set up two in the first half, but manager Roberto Mancini still wants more from the young winger.\"Sometimes he thinks, \'Okay, in this game I scored one goal, I did an assist, that is enough,\'\" Mancini said. \"I think Adam, because he is young, can improve a lot. He needs to think in a different way.\"Second-placed Manchester United face a testing trip to Everton as they look to bounce back from last week\'s 6-1 home defeat to City.\"You can\'t hide from it,\" said assistant manager Mike Phelan. \"The players will hurt but they have another game to play. Normally we react well to a knock like we got on Sunday.\"We have a new group of players. It is a new unit we have put together. For some of them it is the first real big hit they have taken. We are going to find out now can they handle it. Can they take it on board? Can they learn from the game?\"Bottom side Blackburn Rovers go to newly-promoted Norwich City, while second-bottom Wigan Athletic are home to fourth-bottom Fulham.Third-bottom Bolton Wanderers travel to sixth-bottom Swansea City, while Sunderland host Aston Villa.Liverpool are at West Bromwich Albion, while Tottenham Hotspur take on QPR on Sunday. Newcastle United go to Stoke City in Monday night\'s game.
