Norway's Anders Bardal won the Zakopane round of the ski jumping World Cup on Sunday on a dramatic afternoon which was marked by heavy rain and high winds. Bardal enjoyed the best of the early conditions before the weather became so bad that the second round on the large hill was cancelled. He jumped 131.5m for a points tally of 127.0 points ahead of Slovenia's Peter Prevc (124.7 pts) and Germany's Richard Freitag (122.1 pts). It was Bardel's first win of the season and sixth of his career, coming less than three weeks before the start of the Winter Olympics. Prevc moved into third place in the overall World Cup standings where Poland's Kamil Stoch still leads ahead of Austrian defending champion Gregor Schierenzauer.
