Tahaama, ridden by Frankie Dettori, has every chance to land the GNB 2200m Handicap, the highlight of the penultimate race of the season at Meydan Racecourse on Saturday. The first of the six-race card kicks off at 4.30pm with the popular pick-six competition closing at 4.15pm. The four-year-old son of King’s Best came from UK with two wins under his belt in Maiden at the age of two years and a handicap at the age of three from seven starts. He finished good second to stable companion Tanfeeth on UAE debut and won his second start on distance and course under Frankie Dettori a couple of months ago. But, he should appreciate the big jump in rate and weight in order to repeat. Meanwhile, Rutland Boy, to be ridden by regular partner Jamie Spence, is looking forward to complete a hat-trick and earn a dream line-up in the 1600m Godolphin Mile Group on the Dubai World Cup night when the Bertolini gelding lines up for honour in the GN 1600m A/W final race of the evening. Having won two of his three UAE starts over varying distances at the same course, the Ali Rashid Al Raihe-trained smashed a quality field of 14 runners, last time out to win hands and heels under Jamie Spencer. But he should equally appreciate the 18 pound jump in weight to improve his chances in what could be a well deserved invitation for the Godolphin Mile on the big night. Nabah, partnered by Silvestre De’Souza, returns to the track after having disappointed on UAE debut over distance and course last time out, in the 1400m Maiden opening race on the card. The brilliant four-year-old filly of former champion Motivator was badly hampered and never recovered thereafter in the previous race and should make things good this time out. In the second race, Maath Gool will be the one to beat under top Irish jockey Wane Smith. The only threat would be the mount of Patrick Cosgrave, Furnace for trainer Erwan Charpy. Bin Shamardal could give the partnership of trainer Musabah Al Muhairi and jockey Wayne Smith their second victory of the evening in the 1900m third race. The 1200m Handicap fourth race has attracted a maximum field of 14 runners going to post. Top weight Cinderkamp renews rivalry against earlier conqueror Celtic King with both horses have equal chances to strike. But, Garbah and Lord Tiger, previous winners on distance and course should not be ruled out. KT selections: 1. Nabah 2. Maath Gool 3. Bin Shamardal 4. Lord Tiger 5. Tahaama 6. Rutland Boy. Day’s best: Rutland Boy
