Former world number one Adam Scott will take on two-time major winner and defending champion Jordan Spieth at the Australian Open in Sydney in November, organisers said on Thursday.
Scott, the 2013 US Masters champion, was confirmed as a starter for his national open at The Australian Golf Club from November 26-29.
The world number 11 came close to winning this year's US Open with his closing round of 64, eventually tieing for fourth at Chambers Bay. He tied for 10th at the British Open at St Andrews, won by American Zach Johnson on Monday.
Texan Spieth, winner of both the Masters tournament and the US Open this year, earlier this week committed to returning to defend the Australian Open title he won last year.
"The Australian Open is a tournament that I value highly and I am really looking forward to competing to win my national Open once again," Scott said.
Spieth played one of the greatest rounds in the history of the Australian Open last year to win by six shots.
