Qualifier Diego Junqueira won a three-set match Tuesday and the right to meet top-seeded Robin Soderling in the second round of the Swedish Open. Junqueira battled for nearly 2 1/2 hours before finishing off a 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-4 decision over Igor Andreev. He was able to save eight of 11 break points he faced while recording four breaks himself. He meets Soderling in the second round. Soderling won the event in 2009 and was runner-up last year. He and the other three of the top four seeds received first-round byes this week. Second-seeded David Ferrer will go against Pere Riba, who dispatched Christian Lindell 6-4, 6-2 behind five service breaks. Eighth-seeded Potito Starace was the only seeded player on Tuesday's schedule, and he advanced with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3, win over Julian Reister. Jonathan Dasnieres de Veigy took a seesaw 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 win over Andreas Vinciguerra and Blaz Kavcic defeated Julien Benneteau 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Also, Michael Ryderstedt topped Maximo Gonzalez 6-4, 2-6, 6-2; and Guillermo Olaso beat Antonio Veic 6-4, 6-1.
