The Italian leg of the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Women's Shooting Championship was hailed by international shooters, who took part in the two-day event that concluded on Sunday in the hill-top town of Todi in Italy.
The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) President, Olegario Vazquez Rana, thanked the mother of the Emirates Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, for her care and unwavering support to the shooting sport in general and the women's championship in particular.
"This had a great impact on the success of the event, which was one of the best international championships," the ISSF chief said.
"The championship round in Todi has created new records for the women shooting," he added.
Olegario said the championship helped strengthened friendship among the women shooters in the world.
He also congratulated the higher organisation and praised the technical and organisational standard of the championship, including a large number of participants.
"The championship will represent a very important platform ahead of Moscow World Championship to be held next month," he pointed out.
Noora Al Suwaidi described the kind gesture of HH Sheikha Fatima as a wonderful role model for the Emirati woman.
Meanwhile, the Todi round of the championship received wide coverage in Italian media, which lauded the strong cooperation between the UAE and Italy.
The press also appreciated the support and care of HH Sheikha Fatima.
