England gave an international debut to left-arm seamer Reece Topley in their lone Twenty20 match against Australia in Cardiff on Monday.
Australia captain Steven Smith won the toss and elected to field at Sophia Gardens, having already confirmed an international debut for Victoria all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.
This was the first match in any format between the two sides since England completed a 3-2 Ashes series victory at The Oval earlier this month.
After this fixture, England face 50-over world champions Australia in a five-match one-day international series starting in Southampton on Thursday.
