The former Ivorian FA boss is prepping to enter the race for Caf presidency set for March 2013.Former Cote D’Ivoire Football Federation (FIF) president Jacques Anouma is set to enter the Confederation of African Football\'s (Caf) presidential race billed for March of next year during the body’s general assembly in Morocco.Incumbent president Issa Hayatou will likely run for a reelection after he set up a pre-campaign team made up of Guinean Almamy Kabélé Camara, a member of Caf’s executive committee, Badra Sène of Senegal and Benin FA chief Anjorin Moucharafou. Both men are yet to officially declare their intensions for the vote, but preparations within each camp can testify they are heading for the challenge.Anouma’s close collaborators in Abidjan last week told state newspaper Frat Mat that their boss was waiting for an endorsement from Ivorian president Alassane Ouattara to announce his candidacy.Anouma, 58, is a member of Fifa and Caf executive committees and former president of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU), an association of the football playing nations in West Africa.Cote D’Ivoire qualified for the first time for the Fifa World Cup in 2006 during Anouma’s regime. He also helped in professionalising the Ivorian domestic league. The Ivorian FA annual finance report says Anouma is the first president of the body to leave behind more than €3 million for his successor Sidy Diallo.
