Kuwait's 10th Table Tennis championship is due to launch on Wednesday, with participation of 237 players from abroad and eight Kuwaitis.
Sheikh Duaij Fahad Al-Duaij Al-Sabah, chairman of the organizing committee, told KUNA on Monday the tournament would be patronized by His Highness the Amir. It will be held at Salwa Al-Sabah Sporting Club and will include competitions for individuals and couples; senior players and those aged under 21 -- both genders.
In the preliminary round, groups will open the event ahead of the major contests on Friday. Losers will be dropped out of the games in the first encounter.
The International Table Tennis Federation will fully supervise the event, with the participation of 43 local and foreign referees.
